We’re on a mission to make pet food that you, your pet and the planet can feel good about. We’re a nature loving lot and we want to be the most sustainable pet food brand in the world. Through our Zero Pawprint Plan, and the commitment of our community of pawrents, we’re helping to create a world where our planet thrives.

Our Zero Pawprint Plan is our strategy to make a positive change to the planet by 2025, by achieving zero carbon, fully sustainable packaging and 100% ethical sourcing. Find out more.

Every nation, every company and every citizen will have to make big changes in the next 10 years (and beyond) to ensure we tackle the biggest issue facing humanity – climate change. Although we’ve taken a big paw in the right direction, setting ambitious goals in our Zero Pawprint Plan, we wanted to be certain that we are playing our fair part in the fight against climate change.

We must cut the amount of greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide and methane, that we emit on this planet in half by 2030 to meet international climate goals (set by the United Nations in the Paris Agreement).

What are Science-Based Targets?

That’s where science-based targets come in. They provide us clear guidance on how much we should reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by. Targets are considered ‘science-based’ if they are in line with the latest climate science which says we must limit global warming to well-below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and try really hard to limit to 1.5°C.

How are they calculated?

First of all, we calculated our baseline with the help of the experts at Carbon Intelligence. This wasn’t easy! We counted all emissions from our ingredients, logistics, offices, cars and business travel and all electricity used to produce our products. That is a big bunch of data – don’t you think? Then Carbon Intelligence helped us to set and register our science-based targets.

We’ve looked at every delicious recipe – that's 14 recipes for our feline friends and 40 for dogs!

Can individuals set Science-Based Targets?

Setting Science-Based targets takes a lot of work and careful calculations which would be pawticularly tricky to calculate accurately at an individual level, but there are lots of tools out there to help you reflect on your lifestyle and guide more sustainable choices. By choosing Edgard & Cooper you’re voting with your paws and supporting a better future. In 2021 we'll be sharing lots more tips for ways to reduce your pets pawprint.
